Why should I attend the Empowered to Connect Conference?
The Empowered to Connect Conference includes practical teaching designed to encourage, educate, and equip families, caregivers, and professionals to better serve children impacted by adoption and foster care. Empowered to Connect–and the TBRI method it teaches–is widely considered the gold standard in trauma informed training for foster and adoptive parents. The information is both foundational and practical and will equip parents to better understand and care for their children.
Where is the Foster the Family Empowered to Connect Conference held? What should I expect?
Foster the Family is hosting a viewing of the Empowered to Connect Conference at Sovereign Grace Church in Marlton, NJ (111 Greentree Road, Marlton). The sessions of the 2019 Empowered to Connect Conference have been recorded and will be streamed for attendees. The 2019 training included 11 hours that will be condensed into 9 hours of training for our event. Friday will include a short introduction and one break with snacks. Saturday will include breakfast at the beginning of the training, periodic breaks with snacks provided, and a half hour lunch break with lunch provided. Childcare is not provided.
Will I receive DCPP approved training hours for the Empowered to Connect Conference?
You will receive a training certificate issued by the Office of Resource in Trenton for nine hours of DCPP approved training. The certificate can be provided to the Licensing Inspector at re-licensing.
