5 WAYS YOUR GROUP CAN HELP

Host a Meal Prep Night

The Community Foster Response provides a home-cooked meal to foster families the night of welcoming a new foster child.

- Find one or two simple recipes for "freezer meals" that can be prepped, frozen, and then quickly cooked by a new foster family!

- Shop for the ingredients (don't forget large ziploc bags or aluminum pans for storage)

- Gather your group together for a night of mincing, chopping, and prepping.

- Provide a meal for a new foster family!

Decorate Duffel Bags

Foster children's clothing and possessions are often thrown into a trash bag when they are moved to a new home. The Community Foster Response provides "journey bags" to foster children, full of clothing, hygiene essentials, and comfort items.

- Purchase inexpensive duffel bags in bulk

- Decorate with fabric markers

- Provide a journey bag to a foster child!

Organize a Supply Drive

The Community Foster Response provides a new foster child with all of the essentials they need to help the transition into a new foster family.

- Organize a drive for: diapers, backpacks, pajamas (all ages/genders), hygiene items, etc.

- Encourage your group to participate by fostering friendly competition or awarding prizes

- Provide foster children with needed essentials!
