An Update on Foster the Family Michigan

WITH LOVE, GRAND RAPIDS
To our Foster the Family Community,

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we want to share something important with you. At the end of August, the Foster the Family Grand Rapids office will be closing.
We know this may feel like a big shift—especially if our presence has been a steady part of your journey. Whether you received a care package on a hard day, found a way to serve the community you care about through volunteering, or partnered in our mission financially, you have always been at the heart of Foster the Family. And you always will be.
For the last three years, countless team members, volunteers, community partners, and donors have poured out love, dedication, and authentic care for vulnerable children and the families welcoming them in the Grant Rapids community. And we mean it when we say that lives have been forever changed by the support that has been demonstrated here.
While our Grand Rapids office will be closing, our commitment to vulnerable children and the families welcoming them remains. Because of your love, service, and generosity, the Grand Rapids community is now full of thriving partners, ministries, and leaders that support foster, adoptive, and kinship families with love, intentionality, and commitment. And we celebrate this overflow of care and compassion.
We want you to know that families will still be served, children will still be supported, and the work will carry on.
We are actively partnering with local organizations and leaders who will continue to wrap around foster, adoptive, and kinship families in this community. We’ll be working closely with them in the coming weeks to ensure that our key programs continue in new hands, with the same heart.
We also want to pause and say a special thank you to our Grand Rapids team. Together, Heather, Jess, Lena, and Emily have walked alongside many families, offering support, love, and encouragement. The impact we’ve been able to have over the past three years is only because of the selfless team members who’ve served so well.
To the parents, caregivers, volunteers, and partners who have been part of the Grand Rapids story—thank you. Thank you for letting us into your lives. Thank you for allowing us to walk with you. Thank you for showing up to care for vulnerable children, again and again. We’re deeply grateful to have been a part of this journey with you.
We’ll be sharing more soon as we walk through this transition together. In the meantime, please reach out with any questions or if we can serve you in connecting you to local support. We love doing this work, and we are so grateful for the opportunities to continue to make a greater impact through more office launches, more support groups, more program offerings, and more partner collaborations. We cannot do this work without you, so thank you for joining us in bringing hope and help to kids and families.
With love and gratitude,
Jamie
